Hi, I’m Dominik Mecko. ๐
An explorer that thrives in the chaos and complexity of many topics that cross my path.

What do I do?
I work as a Data Scientist at GreenPlace. Our goal is to help SME on their decarbonisation journey of their real estate assets in the UK.
My job is to do anything with data โ I’ve built some internal data tools, designed (spatial) data models, produced analyses, dashboards and data acquisition pipelines.
My economics background puts me in a position of market modelling but I strive to solve any challenge that I encounter.
Did someone say economics?
Yes! I studied Economics & Business Economics at the Erasmus University in Rotterdam and I finished my MSc in Business Analytics at the University of Bath.
I’m passionate about new economic thinking and I’m currently deep-diving into the Complexity Economics. Perhaps my future steps will lead towards this topic.
Okay, but how does that connect to climate change and photography?
Unfortunately (or thankfully), I enjoy a lot of hobbies. Two of them are the environment we live in and the art of photography. I spend most of the time on these topics so I decided to share them.
Other than that, you’ll certainly find me doing any sport (mainly hockey, cycling or hiking the least frequent trails) or reading a nerdy book. My favourites are about nature, reportage from conflict zones or mathematics.
How can I contact you?
You can reach out to me at my email d.j.mecko@gmail.com.
